Weight Control Tips- Keeping the Weight Off
This article and my previous article, “Weight Control Tips- Keeping Weight Off After Losing”, are based on findings from a study done by Brown Medical School in Rhode Island. Their study was linked to what really successful dieters had done in keeping the weight off.
• To recap the last article, they found that being physically active in some way for an hour was important. They also discovered that sticking with a low fat diet and being disciplined about eating breakfast was critical.
• They found that it was important not to let yourself become depressed and angry about going “off the rails” and overeating or eating the wrong food. You must love yourself and just get back on the road without continuing to blow it by eating so that you won’t feel so depressed.
• Among their weight control tips for successful dieters was to be consistent seven days a week and not to eat differently on weekends. Keeping the weight off was dependent on making new eating practices a habit and not rewarding yourself with high calorie foods on weekends.
• They found that they seemed to all have a positive mindset and that really helped put the strategies in place that they needed for keeping the weight off. They all had high self worth and felt that they deserved to be slim and healthy.
