The Truth About Carbs- Part 2
The truth about carbs is that some are good. Not only are they good for you but they are necessary for good health and even survival. The key here is which type of carbs you choose to eat.
You want to choose carbs that are full of nutrients and low in sugar. This is simply making a choice between good and bad nutrition. You instinctively should know which is really the healthiest choice. Bad carbs are those high in refined sugar, white flour, processed snacks and instant oatmeals and rice. You will get a sugar rush but this comes down fast and then you’re looking for the next energy rush.
The truth about carbs is that good carbs contain less calories. This means you can eat more of these type of carbs. You can fill up on an apple or eat a bite of a Danish roll. Same calories but good and bad nutrition choices are obvious here. The apple will fill you up more than a bite of a roll.
The bottom line here is good health and bad carbs can lead to health problems. Constant ingestion of high sugared foods can result in diabetes as your pancreas can’t produce enough insulin to take care of this sugar explosion.
The truth about carbs that you should really be aware of is that bad carbs will result in you putting on pounds. These high sugared, white floured, process foods will cause your body to store them as fat and this is when it packs on around the middle areas of your body. The result is problems such as heart disease, high blood pressure and other conditions.
The choice between good and bad nutrition doesn’t mean no carbs, it just means the right carbs.
