Diet and Restaurants-They Can Go Together, Part 2

The commonly held belief is that diet and restaurants don’t go together.  This isn’t true if you remember some important tips.  I’d also like to emphasize that good eating health and restaurants can co-exist also.

Did you know that a steak that’s grilled with a salad can contain only 500 calories?  A pasta with tomato sauce is a good choice and will be filling so that you aren’t tempted by dessert.  It seems strange but watch out for veggies because they may be covered by a thick cheese sauce.  Ask before ordering.

A good diet and restaurants really runs into trouble after dinner.  The dessert tray is trotted out to tempt you big time.  Options here are limited as health and restaurants end with rich desserts.  If you really need dessert, a fresh fruit salad is your best choice.

Remember that alcohol is not a good choice.  Low calorie non alcoholic drinks are the best option.  Water, coffee or ice tea are also a great choice if you stay away from creamers.
