4 More Tips For Healthy Eating Habits

Making healthier choices when it comes to your diet is not that difficult and I’m going to show you some easy tips.

•    Bad carbs is something you hear a lot about but what are they?  Right at the top are refined sugars and white flour.  Choose whole wheat bread and brown rice instead of the white alternatives.  They are much lower in calories and they are a staple for healthy eating habits.

•    There are substitutions you can make that are part of making healthier choices.  Use cocoa powder instead of unsweetened chocolate for you desserts.  A wiser choice than oil in making desserts is unsweetened applesauce and try non-fat yogurt rather than ice cream on those pies you make calling for ice cream.

•    If you want an extra helping when your plate is empty, choose steamed vegetables instead of the main meat or casserole plate.  Of course the best choice is to change your mindset altogether by just getting up and taking a walk   You will find that if you wait a few minutes that you will feel full and glad you didn’t take an extra helping of that casserole or dessert.

•    Part of making healthier choices is being aware of options.  How about some fruit or a fondue instead of pie or cake.  I hope you realize that after the meal is over and you’ve waited a few minutes, you’re really not eating because you’re hungry anymore.  So the right decision is to just have something that is almost free of calories since you’re really not hungry anyhow.

Healthy eating habits are just that: habits.  Your mindset will change and so will your habits if you start thinking in terms of options to high calorie, unhealthy foods and sweets.
